Organics on the Go!

I've got a little one at home, and having her eat plenty of healthy fruits and vegetables like the rest of the family is a huge priority.  And since her little body is so small and absorbing so much, we're extra careful about the quality of ingredients we use.  Little One eats organic as often as possible - homemade and without preservatives, dyes, or additives.

“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Beech-Nut. I received a free coupon to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.”

I like to prepare big batches of farm-fresh produce and freeze them in little age-appropriate portions that can be mixed and matched depending on her preferences of the week.   All the combinations help to make sure that her flavor palate is well-rounded and that her nutritional requirements are met with variety and quality.

When we're on the go, though, we turn to the closest we can find to my Mommy-prepared meals.  Luckily there are easy-to-carry products like Beech-Nut's new organics line, which is inspired by Moms looking for real food that is as close to homemade as possible - they call it "Real Food for Babies".  Real, whole fruits and vegetables, ancient grains and beans, all packaged into cute little recyclable jars - like mine, but ready to grab at a moment's notice.

I love that they get creative with the mixtures, just like I do with my homemade concoctions.  That mysterious "Mac & Cheese" flavor is fantastically nowhere to be found - instead its fun combos like raspberry & avocado, and organic butternut squash, black bean & cumin, or classics like organic apple or banana.

My favorite part of these is that the descriptions of the product on the front is honest.  The pack says "just peas & spinach" and guess what is inside... Organic Peas and Organic Spinach.  I've gotten frustrated with other brands when they list and picture great veggies on the front, only to be filled with the same apples or pears as in every other pack they sell.

The colors are bright and vibrant, and Little One loves that the packaging is clear so she can see exactly what she'll be eating.  I love that she's choosing between colors of real foods, and not just picking cartoon drawings of foods or branded characters.  As for the flavor, she devoured them just like she does Mom's.

Beech-Nut organics are gently cooked, locking in the fresh flavors and nutrients, without adding water or artificial preservatives.  The glass jars are marked with the USDA-certified seal indicating GMO-free ingredients.  This year, Beech-Nut organics and 100% naturals were awarded baby Product of the Year by Taylor Nelson Sofres based on a survey of more than 40,000 consumers.  They must be on to something!

  1. I like organics because I know there aren't pesticides in the food base.
